OP, you are wanting them to quit for the wrong reason.. I was going to support you -- if it was just too much for your family, too much money, too much of a time commitment. But because your DC isn't good ...wrong, wrong reason.

Depends on his genetic potential.
Is he starting puberty? So much depends on who goes through puberty with boys ages 11-13. If his father didn't have a growth spurt until high school then there isn't much hope.

Is he fast? Speed can really help in high school and those that are technical but not speedy are going to get left behind. If he is one of the slowest on the team there isn't much hope.
