Same. Felt good on practice DSAT and said there were a couple of math problems in the second module that he had no clue how to do.

Mine too! Relieving to hear that is common experience. He’s not shooting for sky high score but nice to know maybe this doesn’t mean he didn’t do terribly

I think there should be extra-hard math problems in that second module - probably means he did well on the first module and got the harder second module to complete, which means he probably got a pretty good math score.

My DD who is really good in math said the math second section was really hard. She ran out of time. She said both second modules (Eng and Math) felt hard, as in she didn’t have a clue about some of the answers. She said she could definitely tell she had received the harder modules, like night and day to the first module. She’s taken the paper version in Dec so interested to see how this score compares. She came home exhausted and discouraged.

My kid took the paper in December-1360. Did some Khan Academy prep and took a practice digital from the College Board site and got a 1500. Will try another one soon.

This is similar to our experience...our DS said he could never finish the paper version but is able to finish the digital one, which makes his score go up a ton even though the content is similar.

Except both of you are talking about "practice" test scores. Come back when they've taken the real thing.

Well duh. No digital real test has been offered in our area yet.

Apples to apple though - highest score by far is practice digital vs practice old paper.

No one cares

OP cares.

You seem confused.

I care also

Yes- about two weeks for scores according to College Board. Score for the March 9th test should be released on March 22nd.

So no. It won’t come back any faster. The paper test returned scores in two weeks.

This is interesting as one of the alleged big benefits of the digital test was faster scores, when in it is the same time as the paper scores.

A couple of DCs friends said the same. DC is not a strong math student and did not get the harder second module but said the easier one was very manageable.

DC in same boat. He got 800 on all Bluebook math sections but did not know how to do 3-4 on the 2nd module. Definitely a tough one.

Exactly this. Math-loving DD took the Dec paper test and today’s digital and said the math today was hard. I will let her know she’s not alone!

DC just took it - said math was harder than practice.

For English DC said there were 4 questions he had no clue what the right answer was. They were the scientific written passages and those he usually get right and knows the answer right away. Said the SAT questions were much harder than his prior paper practice ones - so he is now regretting not taking the paper one…

My math loving kid said the math was HARD today.

She said she could have done the first module in "4th grade" (that was a quote) but she did not finish the second module.

She got a perfect math PSAT so she usually does well.

Sigh. She was also feeling demoralized.

Same here. Math module 2 was extremely hard for many, many test takers who had done really, really well in test practice. This is all over the internets...

Test takers discussing are talking about curved results. I don't think they are technically curved but I do think scores are somehow adjusted for difficulty depending on test date, but the information I have found is not clear. Specifically, what I found on College Board was too short, general and vague, but prep companies do describe some score adjustment to make it equal across test dates ("while emphasizing it's NOT curved"). Anyone seen a comprehensive, transplant, and clear explanation from an original source, which I assume would be the College Board?

I could have written this about my DC.

It seems to be a poorly designed test.

My kids (twins) said that the first math and English sections were ridiculously easy--both felt that they got 100% correct and had half the time to spare (e.g. finished the entire sections in 15 minutes each).
Then the second sections were hard. They both ran out of time in the math.
