asfs website says school starts at 9 am https://asfs.apsva.us/contact-us/ |
She herself does not come to school on time. She doesn't even know the names of her own teachers. Ask any teacher there what time school starts. It starts at 9:00 a.m. |
Yeah, instruction starts at 9, that’s not when you walk in the door. |
Uh, when I go to the link you posted it says this: “School Hours: 8:50 AM – 3:50 PM” |

You must be new. |
Oh how interesting . . . someone changed it tonight. Two hours ago, it said 9:00 a.m. as start time, and even my son's teacher told me it has been 9:00 a.m. for many years, and she has been there for at least a decade. |
Sounds like the principal or her troll is answering here. Ha! |
I cannot believe 5 minutes is worth getting this worked up over. |
You must be new there. The previous principal was criticized for being way up in all the teachers’ business and playing favorites. She ran a very tight ship. In the end her style really worked for my kid, but there was lots of complaining.
Given the new zone for the school, just leave five minutes earlier. |
NP here, but my child went there for 6 years before heading to middle school last year, and the previous principal was BELOVED. We didn't like everything about her, but disparaging her now makes it sound like you are the new principal writing here. |
She was most definitely not BELOVED by everyone. She had plenty of critics. |
Weird. I really can’t imagine APS has people working on weekends to update their webpages (too much bureaucratic red tape!). I’ve always seen 8:50 am as the published start of the day. |
ASFS website says 8:50 to 3:50.
Arlington County schools website says 9:00 - 3:50. So, how long has ASFS said 8:50? According to the wayback machine archives — August 2021 |
For more than a decade, students were expected to be in their seats by 8:50. They have to be stricter about it now because some parents are lazy. |
