Does anyone else prefer the look of facial lines as you age?

They both look beautiful and the lines in their faces give them character and depth they wouldn't have with every wrinkled filled, stretched, and smoothed out.

My mom got wrinkles on the late side (didn't really start seeing them until her late 50s) and they were mostly fine lines for a long time. Now in her late 70s she has deeper lines, but I still like how her skin looks -- she still has a glow and there's still color in her cheeks. I would be totally okay with following in her footsteps. She's never had any procedures done at all -- just moisturized her skin and stayed out of the sun.

There is 0 way that Jodie Foster isn't doing both fillers and botox. Just because it looks more natural doesn't mean they haven't had something done. I think that's a big myth about Botox and Fillers. You actually need to do a ton (10+ syringes of fillers in the face or 2-3 in the lips) to even start seeing a unnatural look

She's not that old. She's what, 60? She looks it.

She’s 61 and she is decidedly older looking than the 60+ year-olds I know. I’m 63 and have way fewer wrinkles than her as do all my same-age friends. But her face is less saggy than mine and I would kill for her fairly taut jawline. She has great bone structure in her face. She must have spent a lot of time in the sun.

PS. For those that haven’t seen her in true detective season 4 yet, this is where some of us are seeing her and her jarringly wrinkled skin. It could be the photography, though.

Not one person I know who is in their early 60's looks like this. I have to wonder if this isn't Hollywood magic at work here. It almost looks a bit exaggerated with how wrinkly and saggy she looks. BTW I think she's quite pretty and even sexy with some age on her.

I definitely don't. However, while my husband may be blowing smoke, he did tell me recently that I look better now than I did 20 years ago. I was lamenting my changing face...my marionette lines, my dark circles. He replied that when he looks at pictures of me in our 20s and today, he finds me more beautiful now. It really did make me feel better. Sometimes looking in the mirror is depressing.

Yep

I'm a sinker so I get hollow cheeks, visible upper ribcage in my chest, circles under eyes.

This isn't true for everyone. A lot of us have partners who certainly notice and care how we look. Some of us are dating; how we look matters in that arena. And just in the scheme of life - women care about how they look until they die, and everyone notices how we look, too. Go eavesdrop on a couple of senior ladies having lunch and they'll be discussing appearance. Hair, skin, make up, beauty treatments. They'll discuss other same-age ladies and how they look, too. It matters. People care.
