This is not meant to be a smug post about accepting aging. While I like my lines, I have seen some amazing plastic surgery for facial features and if I didn't have a million stressors and things pulling at me where I just cannot do an elective surgery and recovery, I would be tempted to try it. I'm not tempted by botox or fillers though because I like lines. Anyone else like your lines? I have always been just average and I think my lines and the loss of facial fat improve my looks a little bit or in middle age my brain is declining and I am becoming delusional . I know a few people who were blessed with incredibly good looks and the ones who chose to keep their lines look fantastic to me. I don't like what botox does and fillers look so unnatural. Maybe i know people who use these, but they do it in such a subtle way, it looks great and not unnatural?
If I come across as judgmental I can take this down. It truly is that I just think lines in middle age look good. Maybe when I become elderly I will decide it's worth it to try botox. Anyone else think a lot of middle age people look better with the lines? |

No I don't like my lines at all, particularly not my 11's. I think 11's make people, especially women look angry.
I do like the loss of facial fat that occurred in my 30s. Despite being thin, I always had chubby cheeks. As a kid and even a teen I remember people squeezing them- ugh. I have botox and no one can tell. My face definitely isn't frozen. I only get about 30 units. My husband actually never noticed either |

Yes. Was just thinking this while watching True Detective. Jodie Foster and Fiona Shaw both have lined faces. They look (and are) older women. They both look beautiful and the lines in their faces give them character and depth they wouldn't have with every wrinkled filled, stretched, and smoothed out.
My mom got wrinkles on the late side (didn't really start seeing them until her late 50s) and they were mostly fine lines for a long time. Now in her late 70s she has deeper lines, but I still like how her skin looks -- she still has a glow and there's still color in her cheeks. I would be totally okay with following in her footsteps. She's never had any procedures done at all -- just moisturized her skin and stayed out of the sun. |
| Not me, at least not on my own face. |
| You know- botox only works for 3 months. So it's not like it permanently fixes your lines. It's sort of preventative since it helps you not wrinkle, thus lessening wrinkles in the future. |
| If you like your lines, start smoking or go lay out in the sun. Don't wear sunglasses and squint daily. You can easily get wrinkles if you try. |
| I'm a sagger - so my face is melting instead of wrinkling. I'd take wrinkling any day. |
Yeah I have 11s and really hate them. If I had horizontal lines I wouldn't even think about botox. I'm tempted to get it for the 11s but at what point do you stop |
| I used to get Botox every four months but I’m at nine months now and am kind of enjoying my face the way it is. |
| I don’t have 11’s. I do have lower eye bags and all wrinkles on my face have congregated in the crepey skin under my eyes. I hate it. |
| I like my unlined face, and I'd keep it if I could, but I'll sure take my lines over that shiny puffy bulbous thing that's going around right now. |
| It's not that I like the lines, but I hate the totally artificial look of Botox. While it can be done well and not noticeable, I'd say well over 50% of the people who get Botox end up with too much and get the over-bloated look that looks so fake. And if it isn't visible with the resting face, then as soon as the person talks or moves their head and only half of the face moves, it looks just as bad. |
This is me, too. I have some wrinkles around my eyes, but they don't bother me. What I hate is the sag starting around my jaw. My cheekbones look awesome, but at the price of my jawline. |
| i like the wrinkles by my eyes, i have always loved the crinkly eyes look. i could do without the forehead lines but they don't really bother me. |
| I like some lines on people. I do not like forehead lines/11s. I like smile lines around eyes and I do not mind the ones around the sides of face. Really good bone structure goes a long way. And I don't like the look of saggy/jowly cheeks or turkey neck. Good skin care and genes help a lot. |
