My DH had his gall blader removed years ago and gets these sulfuric burps/gas when he eats beef or fatty foods on Mountjaro. |
Is anyone experiencing an acne breakouts? |
I’m up to 7.5 and have had zero side effects. I’m doing it along with weight watchers so I’m eating pretty regularly. I’ve lost 20 pounds in two months. Eating high protein diet. Weight lifting three days a week and doing walks the other two days. |
Yes! So weird because I thought it regulated hormones. |
No, but I got my period again. ![]() |

Were you in menopause? |
Hi. I was on metformin for about a month and it really suppressed my appetite. I had trouble meeting my calorie goal (per Noom) and really didn't lose any weight.
About to get zepbound if I can find it .and wondered about the folks who are successfully losing. Noom keeps telling me I am not eating enough and going into starvation mode. I find that hard to believe. For those on zepbound, are you eating close to your calorie goal? Much lower? |
#1 - use a nutrition tracker to count everything to eat - NOT to ensure you don’t eat too much but to ensure you get enough of the right stuff.
#2 - The right stuff is primarily protein and FIBER. You will need fiber, trust me. Have on hand other things that make you go 2. Do not ignore this please. #3 - Don’t get frustrated if there are occasional stalls. The scale is a temperamental devil. Stick with the program. Maybe increase exercise in a stall or - somewhat counterintuitively - increase calories for a day or so. #4 - This one is important - don’t listen to the naysayers and the legion of uninformed idiots who will undoubtedly invade this thread. They know nothing about insulin resistance and other things that affect metabolism. #5 - You’ll lose weight, almost everyone does, although some more than others. Don’t be surprised if people don’t comment. They are actually being polite because it is no longer proper to comment on others bodies. Best of luck and Congrats to you on committing to this journey. You will be happy! |
I would find it difficult without protein shakes. Consensus is Fairlife tastes the best and can be had for $21.99/case at Costco and BJ’s although they are frequently out of the chocolate. Another helpful tool is Quest protein chips. They taste pretty good and have low carbs and lots of protein, of course. Plus, they are chips. ![]() I make a point to eat real food every dinner, with a focus on protein. You gotta get your 100G of protein (average daily). Lifting weights helps also, and I do it, but I hate lifting weights more than anything else in the world! |
Check out the Zepbound subreddit. There is a ton of info in the Community Info (eg, FAQs and Beginner’s Guide) as well as in the posts, of course. There’s also a really helpful chat for availability. |
Not quite yet, but it had been 6+ months. |
For those who are paying out of pocket for Zepbound, what how does it cost you and are you having trouble getting the prescription filled? |
My insurance covers it but the retail price listed is $1200 a month. Apparently their coupons will get it down to $550 |
