It's a mess.
I think the people most likely to get screwed are those hoping for bigger/better merit aid from private colleges, while having a state college as a fallback. They're probably NOT going to get much from the private, and by the time they commit to the state college, their kid will probably be late on housing, roommate selection, etc. |

| Oregon State University moved to June 1, but their academic calendar doesn't start until late September. Much more challenging for schools that start in Aug to move the date. |
