Is this year’s RD different?

Anonymous
Most schools have decreased the amount of EDs they took this year. Meaning either they predict higher RD yeild, or higher RD quality.

Who has publicly reported this, citing actual numbers? Can you share which schools have released their ED or EA numbers?

What would drive higher quality? Unless there’s collusion???

This is not new!! This has been the case for years!!

There's a lot of bad info on this thread (and elsewhere.) People extrapolating from one or two stories they've heard. Or interpreting their own kid's experience as emblematic of some big new trend.

Look at the data folks. Some schools take a lot of their entering class in ED. Some don't. Every school lists this info in its common data set. Go back a few years and you'll see that there's some consistency, even if the overall odds are much tougher today than they were pre-pandemic.

Is the data this year different?

More apps in ED yet smaller % of class filled? If so, that is in fact noteworthy.

No need for you to poo poo it.

Georgetown took fewer in early round this year. Raw numbers---not percentage.
