And the 10% property tax increase went….? (into the John). We have a spending problem in MCPS and need IG for MCPS desperately- and not one that works for county. Nearing 6 billion with both budgets combined. That’s quite a honeypot.

And if everything is important than really nothing is…

Both the county and mcps need full audits and accountability.

There have been a dozen audits this year alone. Please stop

+1. How many more audits do they need to do? The results are public and someone can do a FOIa if they want more info. They are in the midst of budget planning for next year. Feel free to send MCPs or the BOE or the county council your concerns.

Fast forward to 2023 when the great reporting of Alex Robbins exposing the mess of MCPS and Beidleman, Walker and many other high level staff get placed on leave.

Not long after, Beidleman and Walker file their own complaints for hypocrisy and/or retaliation from MCPS.

January 2024 McPS realized they are 50mill in the hole and freeze all instructional and transportation funds. Copiers are unplugged at most schools and teachers freak out even more about being held to high standards for students success without the necessary resources.

BOE consults a lawyer, but not before McKnight starts her own PR campaign to play the victim.

Robbin’s releases another tell all to let taxpayers know what’s actually behind the curtain.

MCEA releases a statement saying “we told you so” while MCCPTA supports her.

The you know what has just hit the fan. There are only a few leaders left to put on leave and it’s the top 3. Can’t see how they will find their way out of this.

.
Where did MCCPTA support her? Did they put out a statement? I haven't seen anything

Cathy Stocker, the Vice President of Education at the Montgomery County Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (MCCPTA) said the news of McKnight fighting her ouster came as a big surprise. While the school board has the right to hire and fire superintendents, Stocker said the MCCPTA is concerned that the decision was made without consulting major stakeholder groups.

“They also have another very important responsibility which is to clearly articulate expectations and deadlines and consequences to the executive leading the school system,” Stocker said. “And if the Board of Education did not, in fact, offer feedback and directly express to the superintendent the concerns of constituents or their own concerns, this kind of action runs the risk of looking politically expedient instead of a necessary action that serves their long term strategic plan and vision.”

“Our preference is that our collective time energy and money and money should be focused on the needs of our students,” she added. “And this kind of public spat between the Board of Education and the superintendent of schools is not serving our students.”

When are we going to be able to get common sense adults in charge of MCPS? Is it really that difficult? Is our system that corrupt? What is going on here.....

You forgot that Alexandra Robbins is an author who began substitute teaching to gather insider information for her book about teachers. She’s making money off of these stories.

Are you sure she's not just another disgruntled employee?

Corrupt in what way? I'd agree there are misplaced priorities but would hardly call it corrupt.

Right.
Covering up sexual harassment of staff and rape of students is just misplaced priorities.

The report I read said there was no wrongdoing.

QO Principal for starters. His former boss.

No one will listen to that though because that principal and many others who did similar offenses with no consequences are not black.

Did dozens of people submit complaints about these "similar offenses"?

Does it matter…
No one submits complaints about white leaders and it’s dealt with.

This all started with Beidleman, because LOTS of complaints were submitted against him, and he's not black.

Yeah, the report they falsified said that.
