Mall in Columbia Heights - It has changed

I moved to DC ten years ago when it was at one of its safest points and it was pretty clear that the CH development was lipstick on a pig. I’m not sure why anyone is surprised about its current state. There’s way more work to be done in that area than just sticking a mall there.

Who gives a 5hit about the Columbia Heights CVS closing? There are three other pharmacies (Target, CH Pharmacy and Giant) within two blocks of 14 and Irving and a CVS at Spring Rd and Georgia Ave. That parcel of land is way too valuable to be hosting a dumpy pharmacy.

Having a full service Target, a Best Buy, a gym, a Marshall's and a new Burlington Coat Factory (although not my cup of tea) in walking distance really sucks and is a huge detriment to the neighborhood. All because it might smell like weed here and there and immigrants sell items on the street. Really sucks to be us!

My guess is all of those places will close in the next few years. I don’t know how any of them could possibly be making enough money to make it worthwhile.

We have a major housing crisis in this city and you are complaining about subsidized housing?

Yes. And there is no major housing crisis. There is plenty of housing -just not in the places where everyone believes that they are entitled to live.
