Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
|
She called the school and said she would be out a few days using her own personal leave. So she’s not AWOL as far as mcps is concerned.
|
| Hopefully she is ok. |
Thank you (from another teacher)! |
Way to ruin a good DCUM rant! |
| I hope she's found safe soon. |
Maybe we shouldn't guess about this kind of thing. It seems unfair to spread this kind of gossip without facts even though this is MCPS. |
So disappointing! I was hoping for some conspiracy like another MCPS coverup. |
Good, so let's give her privacy now. |
Of course they are but no one is allowed to "go missing" unless their absence affects no one. |
How do you know? The article did not include that information. |
That’s what upsets you? That her students have a sub? It’s dangerously cold outside. Her family doesn’t know where she is. She might have been abducted. She might be having a medical issue. I wish you had learned compassion in school. |
"Compassion" isn't in the curriculum. Every time the try to add something like it, DCUM gripes about it. |
But her family doesn't know? Sounds like a hook-up or affair type thing. Hopefully, not some online whacko. |
Did you read the quotes before you posted? If she is having a mental illness issue, then she should not just disappear without informing anyone. Obviously if she was abducted or having a medical issue she would not be able to do this. It upsets me that people are worried about her and the police are involved IF she willingly left while 100% capable of leaving a note. |
No. That would be disability discrimination. 1 in 5 people in the United States have mental illness, so that would really restrict the pool of teachers if we couldn’t hire anyone with a history of mental illness. Plus what rotten example for kids, many of whom grapple with mental illness - hey kid, you’re depressed or anxious, let us show how little compassion and opportunity you will have in life if you admit that out loud. |
