They did.

Not all places did. Fairfax and Arlington did, City of Alexandria did NOT.

Just drove from downtown Bethesda to Arlington and back 1pm 1/15/24

Wisconsin clear - neighborhoods - white but driven over
495 - Just wet
Clara Barton/Canal - wet but surprised how close the snow was on the side. If you need to pull to the shoulder for any reason, you’ll be in snow.
Chain Bridge - fine now, mid day, would be cautious after sunset or when traffic is less steady
N Glebe - clear, same as Wisconsin, interior neighborhoods have snow packed from being driven over.

Driving around Rockville was fine, didn't slide or anything. Drive slower and extra distance.... but did see 2 accidents.

1:00 pm, Old Georgetown Road and neighborhoods, including Wildwood parking lot are fine

I need to drive my kid back to VA Tech but can’t leave until 1 pm. Worried if the roads will be worse as it gets later.

I wouldn't want to be doing this on I 81.

Rock creek was awful this morning. I came a different way home so I don’t know how it is now. Why did the city treat the streets when it rained a few weeks ago but not last night??

We decided to leave at 7 am tomorrow to get there in time for a noon class. Hope with other school closures, traffic will be light and 81 will be clear.

Stupid accidents by 1130, all over.
Clearly driving too fast for conditions

I've been in and out since 8 when I went to grab coffee. I live in Rockville and had no issues on any of the main roads.

The problem with I-81 is the elevation and trucks. Maybe take 15/29 through VA?

I95 from Lorton to Woodbridge and Route from 22309 to Lorton seems fine. However, NoVa has quite a few more roads than the couple miles I drove.

That’s not smart.

From CWG "We're concerned about after 4p when we lose daylight & snow picks up. Roads will get VERY slick this evening/tonigh"
