How are the roads?

I'm driving my kid back to his college after the break, and we'll go slow.

GW Parkway closed in certain sections - https://wtop.com/traffic/

Lots of icy roads/crashes according to the above.

Why didn't the powers that be spread sand and/or salt or whatever they use here?? Snow was in the forecast, it was not a surprise.

Me, too.

This is literally the first place I clicked on for first hand experiences.

Don’t be a jerk. Many of us have plans and trying to decide if roads are slick enough to merit rescheduling. Roads aren’t covered with snow but if it’s deceptively icy, I personally will reschedule things that are optional.

Don’t be an idiot. Perhaps visit a traffic, or news website.

You are not a nice person.

Our neighborhood has a salt truck going around. Roads are passable-Aspen Hill.

Plans? Or a critical obligation like an essential employee?

If you have "plans" the YOU are the jerk. Just stay home and don't be a risk to yourself and others. If you have to ask, you should make an executive decision to stay home and not be a jerk.

I just took my kid to an orthodontist appointment. Roads in Rockville are wet but better than I expected and everyone was driving carefully.

Gaithersburg - icy in the neighborhood. Main roads are ok, but I was sticking with the speed limit and leaving more room.

Wow. I wouldn’t want to encounter a rager like you on the roads, or anywhere else.

I need to drive my kid back to VA Tech but can’t leave until 1 pm. Worried if the roads will be worse as it gets later.
