I hate main bedrooms...

I get wood is more expensive, but it looks so much better and if you already have it on the whole first level, in the long run it's easier to care for.

Bowl sinks. This was extremely popular for about a decade (like 2000-2010) especially in power rooms, but sometimes you find them even in master baths. I think they are hideous.

I HATE these. Besides being ugly, they're impractical for washing your face. Water ends up all over.

Open shelving in kitchens. I just cannot commit to that aesthetic of owning like 6 plates/bowls/mugs that all match and look good displayed up there. I need cabinets!

This is my pet peeve too. We redid a kitchen and put in a 36" single basin sink. Washing dishes was so decadent and illicit that thing was like an AP.

In no particular order...

-Carpet anywhere but especially carpet in a bathroom...

-Closet in the bathroom

-Staircase immediately in your face with no breathing room in foyer when entering a home

-Very low ceilings in a foyer or basement

-Choose your own adventure Split Level entrances

-Main staircase completely enclosed on the sides by walls

-Detached Garage

-One Car Garage

-Kitchen not opening up to a Family room

-Vertical Barn siding, Barn doors

-Those fireplaces where most or the entire wall is brick (makes room feel smaller and dim)

-Fireplaces that aren't centered

-Lack of uniform flooring

-Those shiny and cheap looking round interior pillars

-Backsplashes with tons of grout lines (prefer the smooth ones for cleaning purposes)

-Juliet Balcony

-The aforementioned bowl sinks

-Family rooms that span the entire depth of one side of the house instead of leaving a separate room for a formal living room/office space

-Built ins that don't have symmetry or balance. (ie: a built in, only on the extreme left or right of a wall)

-Crown moulding, wainscoting, and etc can be gorgeous but there is a very delicate balance in how much is too much which can turn classy into tacky

I love love love walk in closets. They're my happy space. I want one big one for myself and small one for dh. His can be very small if it gives mine more room.

What are your real estate pet peeves?

You mean a master bedroom? Calling a master bedroom a “main” bedroom is my pet peeve.

+1. So bad

LOL I live in an approx $12 million home we just redid main level with LVP. And our beach house too. I could not be happier HAHAHA

Here is why, we had old hardwood that my dogs and family destroyed.
Then we had engineered hardwood that is horrible don't install that people.

We have dogs, humans humans that ride horses and come in and out on main level for the pool. I am old spending a ton on new hardwoods nope LVP works for me LOL. The cost difference was enough to remodel most kitchens.

Yep LVP looks like plastic because it is. I don't need to impress anyone.

This is how you keep your money. LOL.

When we renovated our bathroom and closet area, we worked within the area we had. The now walk in closet had to be in the bathroom. We discussed getting a tub separate from the shower, but opted for a second sink instead because that was what works best in there.

If that means you won’t buy our house, so be it.

I wish our house had a true foyer. It is the one thing we just can’t change at all.

What's that saying again? Oh yeah. Money can't buy class.

This is how you keep your money. LOL.

I hate space wasted on a tub (or bedroom sitting area) when I could have had more closet. Bedrooms should be kinda small with big closets.

LVP is full of toxins. I hate how you have to accept poison for affordability now.
