Random Q about Great British Baking Show

I liked Noel much better this season paired with Alison. It wasn't the strongest group of bakers, but I still loved watching the show and they're supposed to be amateurs anyway. It's just so positive and enjoyable to watch.

It seems sometimes that all you have to do up until the last episode is just not be the worst and get kicked off.

Sometimes I feel like the star baker and the decision who is sent home is not judged on the bakes of the week but on other factors (like, maybe someone had a bad couple of weeks and they just felt it was time to take them out of contention). But, it is one of my fave shows, still.

I loved that person - I thought they really deserved the win. And I am LOVING Alison and Noel together - she is such a breath of fresh air.

Agree about Alison and Noel. I always loved him, but she is so, so great to watch. None of the other pairing have even come close to these two.

I totally disagree 😂
But I think it proves my suspicion correct - that Matt wasn’t popular with the American audience, which is much larger than the British one now. I loved Matt, and also Sandi. Alison is just too much for me, and while she is very sweet with the bakers, she’s not funny at all.

Sandi was good too. Matt Lucas can be a little hard to take. He's clever and often funny, but I just found his very frequent attempts at sexually-charged humor icky.

I think they should always include a female presenter. You get a much warmer, more supportive energy in the group that way along with the silliness.

Agree!

I didn't get the dislike of Matt. I liked him a lot. Noel will always be my fave in all the pairings, however.
I love Alison too. I really, really enjoyed her in this season.

The episode with the technical bake that was the Creme Caramel . . . . was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on that show. What a hilarious disaster and Paul's reaction -lololol.

*sorry, or was it a treacle tart? I think it was. The steamed pudding.

I have a similar comment about Tom Allen in the professionals series. He was replaced by the warm and lovely (but still very funny) Stacey Solomon and it's just much nicer to watch with a less icky presenter.

I enjoyed that episode also!

I thought this last season was a bit of a let down bake-wise, but it’s kind of nice to see true amateurs I suppose. I didn’t think the winner was deserving, but it was endearing nonetheless.

This season was definitely much better than the last two years, which felt very "off" for various reasons.

Was surprised by the winner and it was a bit intriguing. But he played by the rules and did enough to avoid leaving each week, and in the finals did outbake poor Josh.

I felt bad for Josh. He was on the whole the superior baker.
