For profit youth sports is the natural habitat of scam artists. I just wonder how long you can sell parents on how great your club is while never fielding a competitive team |
I have seen no differences between for-profit and nonprofit entities in youth sports. Nor do I see them in hospitals, universities, etc. |
lotta of their players are washouts from the local clubs and or players that just want to olay without the drama. He will be able to get $$$$ for years to come. Kids just wanna play parents want free time and or not to travel too far. Win win… plus the clubhouse is nice now….bartenders n all |
Thanks for your opinion Loudoun Soccer dad. |
Facts. |
Story time. Let’s hear some. |
That sounds cool. I’d like to know more too. |

I went to their open house. RSA is partnered with DC United Academy where kids will do school together. Soccer practices will be on separate fields. The school has programming/guidance in place for pro college placement, which they reviewed at the open house. https://varevolution.com/revolution-sports-academy/#pro-college-placement
It's my understanding that SAI provides students with reach to their 5 partner MLS clubs (and growing) in addition to having DC United Academy at the school. |
A lot of talk by LS. All they try and do is bring him down. He refunded the money. When covid hit what did LS do? Did they refund? No. Did VRSC, yes and provided online "live footskills, etc" practices. LS leadership is always trying to bring down VRSC. I guess they feel threatened. There is a lot of talk about their teams not being that good. Thats because they are a very young club. Their older teams (2012/13) and above are all kids that were developed outside of their pipeline. Came over to play first team because they could not make LS first team. Not a fair comparison. It's better to compare 2014 and below. Both top 2014 teams have played each other twice, each have won 1 and lost 1. The 2015's tied. Thats the way I understand the situation around VRSC and LS. |
So, parents of kids NOT on DC United would send their boys to go to "school" here and train with Revolution coaches and kids? |
That's not a story from parents who previously had kids play for him. I don't care about the above, I just want stories. |
| My understanding is that it is for girls and boys who will go through a screening/tryout as part of the "acceptance" process. They are looking for high level players regardless of club affiliation. Looks like the coaches are all A license. |
Written by the crook Niko himself. |
Sounds like they're trying to position themselves of some kind of non-residential version of IMG Academy or the Barca residency program in Arizona, but without the residency. And no matter what the screening process is, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess they'll accept most anyone willing to pay. I assume any parent willing to sign up for this already knows their child is at least good at soccer. But, seems like you'd be gambling with your child's future by basically skipping high school; the academics and the social aspects. |
Okay LS. |
