She was new to government so I think she didn’t know, but I’ve been around for long enough to know what my obligations are and I’m not getting fired over a bunch of fancy pears.

No, it's not. That's for gifts from prohibited sources like contractors. Gifting to superior is $10 or less. It's all so complicated that it's just best to avoid it all.
