Assuming you lead a team at a federal agency and being mindful of ethical restrictions on amount spent, what have ppl given their supervisors or team leads as a holiday/thank you gift?
Thanks! |
| nada. why?? |
| Absolutely none, it would be considered wildly inappropriate. |
| Are you really going to search for a non-cash gift less than $10? Are you that desperate to kiss up to your superiors? |
| I thought you never gift your superiors. |
|
OP here, sorry I should have been more clear.
I lead the team/group/dept, that is, everyone reports to me. Im aware that one cannot gift anything to someone above them. I would like to gift the supervisors and team leads (supervising and leading other mini teams in my group) because they have done a great job. |
. I mean it's $20 |
| We usually get meaningless gift cards to Starbucks. |
| Aren't you a little late? Instead of spending 10$ (seems cheap and inconsequential) on supervisors, I'd just spend $200-300 on some general appetizer spread or coffee and dessert spread for the entire team. Not sure whether that is allowed , but probably would be if the total. Cost is under 20/person right? |
| Don't gift up |
We had an end of the year push so it’s mostly tied to that as oppose to the holidays. That might be a better idea to do a spread but also, I’m sure there has been plenty of eating and drinking by then! |
Please reread the thread. No gifting up being asked. |
Trying to avoid that but maybe an option but may have to be a backup |
| $10 is the limit at my agency for supervisor gifts. I gave mine a $10 Starbucks gift card. |
| Bake some cookies for them. |
