Well said. |
This is where I step in-- "Like I tell my kids, blow it out don't sniff it back in! Do you need a tissue?" That nips it. |
| You are a Bozo OP. as mentioned there are many reasons why people need to constantly clear their throat. You really think people do this on purpose to annoy you? Well, if I found you, I probably would but also for people with congestive heart failure this is a symptom. |
You can’t treat a tic. Why are you so easily distracted? |
Bullshit. Gargle. Neti pot Allergy meds Deviated septum surgery Lozenges DO SOMETHING |
Because the person in the office next to me clears her throat and hums all day long due to extreme anxiety. I thought we covered this. |
Ehhh. EMMM!
|
| My DH is a constant throat clearer. Turns out - for him -- it's gerd. So now he takes a rolaid after meals and it has almost gone away. |
PP, there’s a possibility that the OP may suffer from misophonia and not even realize it. Certain sounds can create a sense of fight (intolerance) or flight in the sufferer. It’s an incredibly difficult affliction, even when you know you have it and go to great lengths to mitigate it. |
|
Anxiety is one thing, Gerd is another.
I notice my co-worker does this a LOT when she gets to work in the am and then after lunch. It's irritating as heck. She must have gerd but how do you say, hey, get that checked out - it's driving me crazy. |
Doctors and nurses routinely crack jokes and banter casually during surgery. I don’t think you are being objective. |
You are truly a fool. You actually think that people just don’t get treated for chronic conditions? You think treatments like the above are so effective? You expect someone to get surgery just to please your delicate sensibilities? You are beyond reach. |
|
I had a cold about ten years ago that left me with constant phlegm. I wouldn’t believe it if I weren’t living it.
I don’t constantly clear my throat because that would be annoying though. |
I would do something if I was chronically clearing my throat, even if to simply talk to my co-workers and say, "hey, I'm suffering from this. Hope it doesn't annoy you too much." |
| I just cleared my throat in honor of OP. |
