Look into backpacking meals. There are tons available pre-packaged, or recipes online to assemble your own (kind of a pain, but cheaper and you can customize for the picky kids). Things based on quick-cooking pasta like ramen, instant rice, powdered mashed potatoes, dehydrated vegetables (they travel well and reheat in a small amount of water), canned chicken (get the kind in pouches for easier traveling). You can also get powdered eggs - they don't quite come out with the texture of real scrambled eggs, but I think they're fine in something like an egg burrito or an omelet.
I would also pack a box of Bisquick to use for pancakes, biscuits, etc. Will you be able to get fresh bread, and do you trust it? If so, pack peanut butter, jam, canned tuna/salmon/chicken, and mayo. |
op here. the dutch expat store will ship there and it's not too expensive. they have crackers that are sort of similar to bread. they will ship cheese as well. |

You're being super weird about this. Boil the water and wash dishes with boiled water and soap. No need to microwave.
Don't live on processed foods for a month. Eat food that is cooked until boiling, e.g., stewed veggies. Eat fresh fruits and veggies that can be peeled. Or carefully wash produce (like tomatoes) with clean water before eating. Stay away from leafy produce like lettuce or broccoli that cannot be washed effectively unless it is cooked to boiling. Drink bottled or filtered water to lower your arsenic consumption, but don't replace healthy foods with all processed foods. Your illness from the last trip was likely gastrointestinal, so peeled or boiled is your best friend. Everything needs to be peeled or boiled. |
Distill your water (google how to DIY), which seems to remove arsenic. Not a great strategy longterm, and be mindful of the composition of your cookingware, but it should get you through a month.
