Nighttime Accidents

For some kids they just don’t outgrow it until they are older. Talk with them about how they feel and what the best way to manage it will be.

If it's a teen boy, nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting) can occur after a nocturnal emission.

Wow I had no idea this was a thing.

How was isn’t determined that was the issue? I’ve never heard of it being related to tonsil issues

How would you diagnose sleep apnea?

Sleep apnea can be caused by tonsils, obesity, or changes in hormone levels among other things.

Is it better to just let them use pull-ups instead of having to deal with washing the bed?

That’s what we do. Less shame and less laundry.

Do you ever think he makes less effort to stay dry because he knows he has a pull-up on?

If he wakes up during the night will he try to use the bathroom? Do you know if he’s ever used the pull-ups just because he didn’t want to get out of bed?

I had a friend that used to have accidents and I remember one time we had a sleepover and she told me she still had night diapers. It’s really not that uncommon. I think nowadays even more kids use them than ever before.

At 12, my son suddenly stopped waiting bed at night. It just stopped. He never did overnight camp because of this.

Does he mind if you ask him about it?
