‘Jolene’ is one of her signature songs. It was a huge hit for her 1973. I thought she looked great, but she did keep putting her hand on the set behind her when she walked around, like she was afraid of falling. |
Agreed. Probably some next-level Skims garb. Still, she’s thin, as tone as you can be at 77, and those breasts are hers…she bought them, but that wasn’t some sort of prosthetic. She only wears super high heels, and it shaped her legs. |
I know. I was joking. |
The stocking material even extends down to her fingers, past her palms. |
For all her fakery, (wigs, boobs, coverups) she is the most real celebrity I'm aware of. She cops to all of it and owns it. Dolly is truly one of a kind. |
You know what though, I don't care. She still looks great. And she's a 77 year old woman who is performing on a stage in front of a crowd of thousands, and on TV for a crowd of millions, looking and feeling confident and happy and personally fulfilled by her impressive professional career and her professional relationships. I mean, my legs also look amazing in fishnets, much better than they do bare, and I'm half her age and in great shape. Most performers at that level wear stage wear to perfect and improve their appearance, especially when they'll be photographed in high definition. |
| She still looks great, Skims or not. I can’t imagine my grandma prancing around a public stage in hotpants. |
None of them have put that much money and effort into their looks. |
There is no way spanx or some such could achieve that level of thinness with a small waist. The clothes perfect what she already has. If you are fat wearing spanx, they smooth your rolls. Dolly is tiny with a small waist. Also, her breasts looked amazing in that "top". She uses the best surgeons and astheticians and she's always been open about it. |
as she says, it takes a lot of money to look this cheap. and she is sharp as hell. She didn't let Elvis record I Will Always Love You (Elvis!) because it was not a good financial deal for her. |
I don't know if that is snark, but Dolly is known for her philanthropy, including donating 1 million dollars toward the development of a covid vaccine and the 100 books by kindergarten program. She is also known to sponsor high school bands, etc. She spends way more money on philanthropy than she could ever spend to maintain her looks/ image. Dolly is obviously extremely rich. |
I'm glad she found what works for her so she can still perform. I love to see a woman rocking it at 77! She had a T-shaped support behind her at some country music award show. It looked like one Carrie Underwood used when on a high platform. Dolly didn't move around much so maybe she knows to be careful with her balance. |
|
She could barely move and was clearly lip syncing.
Felt bad for her |
PP here and totally agree. Skims/mesh can smooth things out and improve the appearance of the skin, but they can't take a typical 77 year-old's body and make it look like Dolly looks here. Most 40 year olds wouldn't look that good in the same outfit. Yes, it's artifice and interventions. Of course. She doesn't hide it. But to me what's inspiring is that you can tell she's happy with herself. It's her confidence and unshakeable belief in her own self-worth. Truly: good for her. That is so rare. |
Yeah, she has said she doesn't like how her hands look so she keeps them covered. |
