When do you buy your Thanksgiving ingredients?

I buy Thanksgiving meal stuff on the actual morning of Thanksgiving.

Yes, this did mean that one year we had to eat our pecan pie with raspberry fudge ripple ice cream because they were all out of vanilla ice cream, but it was worth it to avoid the crowds. Grocery shoppers get WEIRD in the days leading up to turkey day.

+1. Most people aren't shopping on Thanksgiving day so that's when I usually go.

I start shopping a couple weeks before. Here, you never know if there will be anything left by Wednesday.

Dry goods, canned goods, last week. Vegetables and other perishables today. Am cooking tomorrow, I am sure I will be sending spouse to the store at least once, possibly more than once.

Actually had a hard time finding kosher salt for DH’s turkey brine. Had to go to three different supermarkets and finally was able to buy at Food Lion, the last box they had.

On Monday night I had to buy name brand butter at BJs because all of the store brand was gone.
Harris Teeter was out of fresh Rosemary on Tuesday, but I got it at Giant.
