The owner posted on NextDoor; 1 of them is chipped. Guessing they were waiting to spay/neuter the two younger ones to chip them. |

This is why I don't walk my dogs in DC anymore. Not after Pablo and Bruno were stolen at gunpoint (and then-AG Racine refused to prosecute the thugs who stole the dogs and threatened the owners).
I am sure at my next holiday party, some progressive will explain to me why dog theft isn't really a crime... And, FYI, I am a liberal who wants better for the people committing these crimes. But who also wants safety for the rest of us.. |
+1 My husband and I would be heartbroken if our black lab mix were stolen or went missing. Would not want to think of him being mistreated. He's a rescue who only knows love. |
| Horrible, as a dog owner in DC this is a huge fear of mine. I would vote for any bill that reclasses this too as a crime. It's like stealing car tires now, but the emotional element is so much higher. I'd hand over 10k+ before handing over my dogs, this would rip me to shreds. |

Okay, what? I have to worry about someone stealing my multi-breed/mutt rescue dog?? I thought thieves were just after the pure-bred trendy dogs . . . . |
Pure bred trendy dogs also give and receive love. - owner of a much loved and loving pure bred dog (not super trendy) |
+2 And you know, that's ok. I've made mistakes voting. But I own up to them and do better next time instead of whiny and voting the same way time and time again. |
You are thinking the thieves are dog breed experts and don't just go after dogs that look close enough? |
They have a high resale value, this has been going on for a while, in DC and elsewhere. |
| Dog kidnappers are so evil |
They should be sentenced as a human kidnapper would. Seriously. Though you probably get off for that too in DC these days
