It sounds like a parent I know who kept making deprecating comments about the type of kids who go to W&M while humblebragging about her son who chose UVA. It was so odd and definitely left an impression.

There are party kids at very school. There are "nerds" at every school. I'm pretty sure you can be both, too.

I do not see OP (or daughter) expressing any judgement here - it's a valid question about social fit.

Of course all schools have drug use - but not all schools have the same level of drug use.

Huh? You’re at campus and see a single woman dressed like this and claim you don’t know a single nerd at the school. My guess is you know hardly anyone at the school.
