+1

I’m a substantially-well-endowed man so I have no need for a gun to compensate for my shortcomings as a male, unlike these losers.

We keep a couple cans of pinto beans in our nightstand. I can hurl them with uncanny accuracy at anyone who breaks in to our condo. My W also keeps wasp spray on her nightstand. One blast of that to the eyes/face and any intruder will regret picking our place.

Alright. What if you’re a woman or small framed man? Do we not have the same right to self defense as large men? Never got this stupid argument.

Yeah if I was 6’5 and 300lbs of muscle I probably wouldn’t feel the need for a gun either. But I’m not, and will never be that size. And if I am accosted by someone much larger/heavier/stronger than me I will lose no matter what I do. Idiot.

Then it sucks to be you, I guess.

Life isn’t fair. Deal with it. Just because you’re smaller or weaker doesn’t mean you should get to have a gun. No one should. Call the police. That’s what they’re for. No one said life was fair.

Life isn’t fair. People will gets weapons no matter what the laws say, guns included. Too bad for you.

Like another PP said even if you comply there’s still a good chance they’ll kill you anyway. Criminals are more psychopathic than ever these days, some kill just for fun or to get social media clout.

Criminals, not known for their orientation toward the safe handling of firearms, even kill and injure victims by accident.

If DC really wanted to control any point of the licensing and registration process, it would allow somebody to offer those services in DC. Instead you go to MD or VA, take their class where they read a slide in it that MPD has prepared and now you are licensed in DC but have paid MD or VA. There are other levers DC could pull like offering their own CCW insurance but DC just screams about the whole situation not being fair. Then to add insult to injury, the renewal process was only recently streamlined, however, the registration and CCW licenses are not collaborative and can have different dates that are expired in some cases and still be authorized. It is a mess especially when you want to keep employees on the right side of a very complicated law.

What sort of business is this? Something illegal? A drug operation, sounds like.

Lots of legal businesses require fire arms. Probably works security for something. Can I hire him/her for my neighborhood watch.
