is anyone else following all these winter forecasts for our area

Hate warm winters in this area. One because warm winters mess up blooming and means mosquitoes and other pests come out sooner. Two because they are a sad reminder of climate change. Three because I like snow and the cold.

Probably too far out to know anything but for any meteorology fans, share your opinions!

Yeah, I saw it and got kind of excited, but then read up on it and it looks like there is a good chance the DC area will only get rain whereas the snow will be in the Shenandoah. Hope we get the snow, though. I love it. DH who is obsessed with tracking the weather says "It's too soon to know anything."

Please, let’s form a prayer 🙏 chain for next Sunday. I’m dreading the return to work tomorrow and need the possibility of a snow day to look forward to.

Could the prayers, snow dancers, etc please focus on Sunday? I need to make a trip to/from PA on Saturday.

Usually I'm up for a good snow storm but DC is supposed to fly back to college next weekend.

Same. Even if we do get snow, it’s not going to stick if it isn’t cold enough

It's not a snow day off work if it's on a Sunday.

Of course. The idea is that the snow comes on Sunday with a snow day on Monday. Three-day weekend!

I think current models are calling for Saturday-Sunday. We’ll see if it’s still there on Thursday.

Snow would be fun. I’m dreaming of it…

Because we are a basic household, almost all of our skiing is within a 2 hour drive of DC. This used to be a fun thing to do a couple of times a year at Ski Liberty or Roundtop or Whitetail. None of them have opened yet. I know skiing is terrible for the environment but it makes me sad to know that these local ski areas will probably be shutting down for good within the next decade.

I'll believe the snow when I see it. Winter weather "forecasts" for DC are just to goose the TV ratings.

Another week without snow. Maybe next Monday?

Probably just more rain.
