Looks like a very snowy one for us. |
I perked up when I heard about it. The last couple of winters haven't felt like winter at all. |
From their lips to gods ears!!! |
Historically, certain El Nino patterns have given us our snowiest winters. This year should be such an El Nino.
But. It's not a done deal. We are curse with the "DC snowhole", when the snow clouds break at the Appalachians and don't make it all the way into DC. |

I'll believe it when I see it. |
Nobody really knows. |
I really hope so. |
I’m reading them and I hope not. Massive blizzards that disrupt for days and days are annoying. |
Yes, and for my own self, I really hope the forecast come true. My son is a senior— I don’t worry about missed school days, I have him around to help with shoveling, and it would be nice to have some days stuck inside with him before he is off to college and life. Or to see him go sledding for one last winter. And I now work from home exclusively so I don’t worry about a commute.
But I know a bad winter could be tough for others so I will cross one hand worth of fingers for me, and the other for those dreading the forecasts! |
Since I moved to DC I feel like there is a yawning gap between the winters snow predictions and reality.
The TV stations always make a good effort to drive a person out to Cumberland -"I don't know about the National Mall but it is really coming down where I'm standing!" |
This made me chuckle. Agree with this. I’m not holding my breath we will have much snow. But will be fun to revive this thread next spring. |
We got a little precursor this morning! |
This may be the very last snow we’ll ever see here due to climate change. I hope everyone took a few minutes to appreciate it and take it in, because we will probably never seen it again here. |
