I remember thinking at the time why the blatant corruption wasn’t getting more press. This is before we found out he was evading taxes and living outside of NYC.

The charges are going to be real bad because he was pilfering government funds. Most FEC and state-level violations come with a slap on the wrist. But when you defraud the government of money in a public matching scheme it’s a much bigger problem with real law enforcement involvement.

I don't understand why the Turkish government would try to influence Adams.. He doesn't have any fingers in national policies towards Turkey, and the Turkish government isn't trying to hide money in NY...
