This is the plot of The Wedding Date with Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney.

So whether it's real or your Wednesday morning imagination, really, it's nothing to be raked up... because it's not important.

Really? This is the plot of the movie down to the small details?

Nope. No rational person is going to be angry at their best friend for not speaking up about this when they hear it third hand at your bachelorette party on the eve of your wedding. Even if the bride finds out, and even if she finds out OP knew, OP could just say (1) I had no idea if it was true or not and I hoped it was not true, and (2) it was a special time for you and your family and I had no interest in doing anything to jeopardize that.

At MOST, OP could wait until well after the wedding is over (well after, not like the next day, I'm talking months) and go to the SISTER and say "look, I was handed this piece of info at the bachelorette, I don't know if it's true and I don't want to know. I'm telling you so that you know this piece of gossip about you is out there and you can decide how to handle it before it blows up." And then wash your hands of it.

If it came out before OP can do this, then it was going to come out anyway and OP has no responsibility either.

This is just people trying to stir up drama in the middle of someone else's happy time, and OP should do whatever necessary to prevent that from happening, which means pretending she didn't even hear this info until after the wedding is over and then letting the people who are actually involved deal with it. OP can just support her friend and celebrate her.

It is over. Leave it alone.

But watch out for that sister. She is never to be trusted.

No, it's not.

yet another reason middle aged women should not gather in a group, drink a lot and pretend they are 20 something brides to be.

Why not?

How do you know that bride to be doesn’t already know about this? Maybe that is why she broke up with Sam. Maybe she has already talked things out with her sister, but keeps an eye on her at all times because she knows that she can’t trust her.

Is she getting married to Sam?
