The point in telling her is so she doesn't feel betrayed by her sister AND her best friend when she finds out. And she will find out. They always do.
Nope. No rational person is going to be angry at their best friend for not speaking up about this when they hear it third hand at your bachelorette party on the eve of your wedding. Even if the bride finds out, and even if she finds out OP knew, OP could just say (1) I had no idea if it was true or not and I hoped it was not true, and (2) it was a special time for you and your family and I had no interest in doing anything to jeopardize that. At MOST, OP could wait until well after the wedding is over (well after, not like the next day, I'm talking months) and go to the SISTER and say "look, I was handed this piece of info at the bachelorette, I don't know if it's true and I don't want to know. I'm telling you so that you know this piece of gossip about you is out there and you can decide how to handle it before it blows up." And then wash your hands of it. If it came out before OP can do this, then it was going to come out anyway and OP has no responsibility either. This is just people trying to stir up drama in the middle of someone else's happy time, and OP should do whatever necessary to prevent that from happening, which means pretending she didn't even hear this info until after the wedding is over and then letting the people who are actually involved deal with it. OP can just support her friend and celebrate her.
