| Meh. These guys and gals get paid a pittance. I'd rather my kid private train with a person who knows their true strengths and weaknesses rather than a generic private training type |
We are non-BSC player training sometimes with NS because it’s a good quality training and u don’t need to signup. U just drop in and they don’t even bill you much much later on. This structure does not really for profit to be honest. I agree with the PP who says 1/3 or 1/2 are not BSC kids who just looking for good training when they can. And no one ever poach them to go to BSC and some of the kids I see are from top teams in the area. Personally - I’m glad to have this option for my kid. PG always positive toward my kid and remember even if they just drop in every now and then. Let’s knock a good program down with favoritism as I honestly don’t see it. |
| Forgot to say no my kid has no desire to join BSC. Just join the NS session when we have free time. |
They must be talking about NextStar private training taking place on one part of the field at Richard Montgomery HS for example while official BSC practices are being held on the field. |
Training with NextStar, PG is free? |
| It’s not free but there’s no prepayment like other clinics/ camps around here and it’s a drop in so u just show up and they send you invoice at the end of the month (or 3 months later). |
+1 We are also a non-BSC family and glad to have this option to drop in. My kid is already on a top team in the area and we have no plans on moving to BSC. |
| Group trainings are not as much of a problem, but private trainings of the $100 per hour variety are a huge conflict of interest. That is happening at Bethesda with a few current players of PG (players rostered on his one team), and it always has. Ask families from previous years. We are one who witnessed it and refused to partake. The club has asked for it to stop. It doesn't, and it won't. Zero accountability. |
For $100 per hour private training, the PG better stand for Pep Guardiola
|
| Actually, the private sessions are $200 per hour. About the same amount you can "buy" a politician for in this area. |
This can't be factual. Anyone charging $200hr for private soccer training better have a 100% guarantee to get my kid into a professional academy. Paying $200hr or even $100hr for private, then $3,000+ and endless other expenses to play pay-for-pay is ludicrous. |
Define "a top team" |
MLSNext |
MLS Next is a league. Not a team. There are MLS Clubs and MLS Next affiliate teams. Some teams are consistent top performers and some are bottom of table dwellers. |
