| We have a 2300 sq ft house but only one kid. We have a legal 4th bedroom in the basement that is literally empty for a year and my son decided to move from his bedroom into the playroom. So no, we don’t. But I am looking to repurpose the spaces so we do. |
| Yes, family of 4 (2 parents, 2 teens) in 2400 Sq ft including finished basement. Officially 4 bedrooms but one is used as an office. |
| 2000 sq ft, 3 bed/3 bath, 2 people. The guest bedroom and bathroom are rarely used. The other spare bedroom is used maybe once a week but that will change if/when we have a baby. Every other room is used constantly. |
We are in the same size house with 2 kids and every room gets used every day. We have a main floor master, so I can easily see once the kids are out of the house not going upstairs for long stretches of time though. |
| Empty nester so newly dealing with too many extra rooms. We have four rooms that are never used (all bedrooms) unless kids are home or we have guests. We do use living room, dining room, family room and our kitchen every day. Plus we have four bathrooms but only use two. Way too much space but don't want to sell until rates change and kids are out of college. |
| Similar size house with 3 kids and 2 WAH adults. Yes, each of our bedrooms, bathrooms, and office spaces are accounted for each day. Plus we use the kitchen, family room, and laundry room near daily. The kids hang out in the basement rec area. We only have one eat in space so that table get used. I guess the one place I don’t use every day is the screened in porch depending on weather, but it stores our stroller and bikes, so it’s useful to have. I am impressed by families who can exist in even small spaces, but 2,500 seems to be a sweet spot for us. |

4,200 sf. Until our kids went to college, yes we used every room every day. Now their bedrooms are not used until they are home
It entirely depends on layout. We moved from a 4,300 sf house on 3 levels and there were weeks where the basement entertainment room or gym wouldn’t be used for days. We’re on one level now and aside from the college kids bedrooms every room gets used daily. |
| Yes. 2600 square feet. DH and I have separate bedrooms and I have a home office. |
That's why people downsize. No need to maintain 4600sqft for two people. |
| I've never thought about it but yes, every single room in our house has a warm body in it at some point. 2400SF. |
|
2800 sqft home. 4 be 3 bath. Except for the basement we use every room m-f. On weekends we use the entire house including the basement.
My laundry is in my basement so I might walk through during the week so maybe I do use every room every day of the week. |
| 4500 sqft house. We use every room every day. We have a big family though. |
| Laundry is in a separate room in the basement that we probably don't go in every day, but otherwise yes. 2000 sq feet counting the basement, 1300 without it, two parents and one kid. Each of the bedrooms is slept in (we sleep better separately), two of the bedrooms are also offices, and the adults tend to spend half an hour or so in the basement watching TV. |
| The guest room is untouched but DH uses the guest bathroom on the daily. |
3000 square foot, 2 adults. |
