That’s good advice! |
Not if you are on the Supreme Court! Feel free to buy their mother’s house or give them luxury trips! They love that stuff. |
Thanks for the advice, but I'll stop working for the government only when people stop using Medicare or I can retire. |
I'm very confused. Are you a fed and wanting people to tip you? For what? Trying to understand as this thread makes no sense to me. |
I should be tipped for doing my job, just like everyone else. There are so many reasons, including crushing inflation. |
Is it just me, or aren’t n;t we on the downward slope with inflation (for groceries, at least)? These last few weeks, I’ve spent far less than before. Eggs are back to $2.65/18 pack at Wegman’s. |
Sick days are more valuable being used than saved toward retirement calculation. However, you should still save them as an alternative to short term disability, which isn't offered standardly. |
There are federal jobs for servers and hair dressers now? That's pretty cool. |
There are plenty of federal jobs where the equivalent job in the private sector often earns tips. |
Plenty? OK, name six. (I'm a fed lawyer, and we aren't tipped in the private sector--but I made a F of a lot more $$$!) |
|
Everyone is tipped now.
We get takeout food and the card payment device asks whether we want to tip 10% or 15% or 20%. For take-out. |
Most of the tipped service industry jobs you could name are existing jobs in the federal government. Pro - Obviously, the most numerous: federal employees who work in food service - baristas, servers, food and beverage attendants, cooks, bartenders - Federal employees who provide one on one transport to specific populations similar to a taxi or Uber - Federal employees in visitor services who provide education/give tours at federal parks and attractions - Federal employees who provide childcare - Federal employees who provide massage as a healthcare service - Federal employees who work in hotel customer service or hotel housekeeping |
