| OP what you should be asking for is for them to fix or replace the dress, not return/refund it. I agree to maybe go to the brand of the dress and not the store, and ask if they’ll just replace it with the same gross. |
This. |
| I always read the return policy before i purchase anything. Also I never throw receipts away, and I never throw tags away. I have a drawer full. I also take pictures of all of my receipts. Your only option is to get the zipper fixed, and if you just don't want the dress throw it away. |

What went wrong with the zipper? Does it need to be re-sewn or did it separate? YouTube offers ideas to fix your zipper problem.
In the store’s defense, people buy fancy dresses and then try to return. |
| I feel your pain a little OP. I bought a $400 dress recently that I took to a tailor because I like for my clothes to fit perfectly. He commented on how well-made the dress was and how it didn't make sense with the quality of the dress why they would put such a cheap zipper in it. |
This isnt a return! It's a dress that OP wanted to keep, except that the zipper broke after one use, and it's going to cost $300 to fix it. That's appalling! |
+1 So tired of how low quality clothes are now. |
Exactly. Didn't Minnie Pearl teach you nuttin? |
This. It sucks, but unless the store stands behind it’s quality, getting it fixed is your best option. |
| I’d take it to a different tailor. Where are you so people can give suggestions? For evening wear I go to elegance by Roya in old town Alexandria. No way will it be $300 |

If the dress is still for sale, then buy it again now. Use the receipt and tags from the new dress to return the broken one the next day.
If that doesn’t work, then escalate within the corporate structure of Saks. |
