It's ridiculous. OP might lose her 20 lbs doing this, but then she'll eventually start eating normally again and gain it all back. Especially if the diet requires her to give up foods she loves completely. You planning to stop eating bread forever?

She can find new foods to love.

Start with high protein, high fiber bread, with avocado or hummus. Shift from carbs to protein and plant fat

Can you please give an example of a high protein, high fiber bread I can buy at the grocery store?

Ezekiel bread.

Not PP, but this bread is in the freezer section if you go looking for it. I agree that it's delicious. I eat toast with avocado mash (the single servings from Costco) for breakfast and it's great.

That is an excellent breakfast. To the point about the freezer - when you buy Ezekiel bread it does need to be kept cold. Because it doesn’t have the preservatives and garbage found in regular grocery store “bread,” it does not keep as well outside the fridge or freezer.

OP, the price of the Ezekiel bread should help you kick the habit.

I will never give up bread. Similar height and I JUSY accept that weight loss takes longer because I will. Not. Give. Up. BREAD!

You can have it occasionally, as a special treat, but otherwise, tell yourself it's not that delicious! I empathize, I also love bread with all my might, but after 50 I had to give it up to fit into my clothes.

Agree. I love bread, but I genuinely don’t like the cheap grocery store bread, Costco croissants, generic rolls/buns. So I skip those types of bread, but I do eat bread if we are at a cafe that bakes their own, and I love a fresh made laminated croissant. I buy sourdough and oatmeal bread from a local small bakery and will eat that on occasion, but I do love Ezekiel English muffins and have those daily

Eat my veggies and protein first then have a slice of bread if I’m still hungry. Never am!

Make your own bread. I also limit bread to one meal a day.
