This is me too. I have 2 Goldens. |
In that case, dogs whose reason for growling and threatening is that you are existing with another dog across the street. |
|
Best: German Shepherd
Worst: anything with “oodle” or that weighs less than 25lbs. |

Beagles
Spaniels Boxers |

Favorite is German Shepherd.
Least favorites are any dogs that yap rather than bark. Little rat like dogs I don't care for. |
Jack Russell terrorists, not terriers lol |
|
Favorite- Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Least favorite- Pitt bulls, any breed that’s aggressive |
| Shelter dogs! |

Favorite type are herding breeds. Love me the fluff and brains of a border collie or Aussie all day long.
I love small, so Icelandic shepherds are high up the list. |

Love nearly all dogs… other than your weird hydroponic “doodle” concoctions.
Used to have an issue with yappy little ones, chihuahuas mainly. But have now known a few to be OK. But a big ole good boy?!? Lab, rottie, mastiff, huskie, hound, golden, shepherd, pit, bully, boxer… gimme ALL the good boys!! |
What do people mean when they just say "terrier"? Pitbulls are American Pitbull Terriers. There are Yorkshire Terriers, Boston Terriers. Rat Terriers. None of these dogs are similar. I get that AKC has a specific Terrier group, I just don't see the connection between these dogs aside from the name. Thanks. |
I like neither purebred pit bull terriers nor pit mixes. I've raised working dogs (Malinois, Samoyed, Chinook, Buhund, Kuvasz, etc.), and I've also raised a few rescues. It's been my requirement that my rescues contain no pit lineage. In re: the PP's question about terriers, I think people who don't like them object to their tenacity, feistiness, and propensity for noise and nipping. I've had family Airedales and Jack Russells, and while I can appreciate them as Good Dogs, I can also say I wouldn't choose them as my own pets. My brother just adopted a purebred Husky, and while it's not the right dog for an inexperienced owner, that pup is gorgeous and smart and soft and awesome! So I'm adding Husky to my list.

| I love my goofy gigantic labradoodle. |

Like: Irish wolfhounds, German shepherds and related breeds, Schipperke and old fashioned non-pit bull mutts.
Like the idea of: the real weird working ones I’ll never have - the ones bred to fight off threats to livestock (I just don’t need that much dog!) Strongly dislike: pit bulls and terriers, there’s something about the last few corgis I met I didn’t like |
