Ours is once a week. The other 2 times are a study hall where teachers alternate the duty of pulling kids for retracting and make up work. The other 2 days are free time for the whole school supervised by paras, security guards and secretaries.

Wish I worked at your MS. Ours is advisory every single day and they have planned "lessons", so we basically are being conned into teaching 6 classes instead of 5. Meanwhile, some teachers don't have advisories.

What are the lessons? Are they as leftist and political (gender ideology and anti-racism) as they were in our middle school or is it mostly normal stuff?

I shouldn't say "lessons" but we have to do Flocabulary (teacher led), IXL Math (teacher led), SEL Lessons, for this month- Hispanic Heritage stuff (teacher led), Fun Fridays (Kahoots/Blookets) It USED to be used a study hall with rotating teachers, but we got a new principal so...

Please tell me this is just a middle school thing and they don’t have it in high school.

Unfortunately they have it 8n high school too. It's once a week at ours and it focuses on "wellness" which sounds OK but almost certainly contains leftist lessons. There's no curriculum for this nor informaion on what exactly they are teaching.

Can you say more? Kid just started at SCMS. What would you like to see done differently? What is expected at BCC?

I have a 10th grader at B-CC. Silver Creek prepared him just fine.

How dare they teach kids about "wellness". I want them to suffer the way I suffered in school.

Are you at Silver Creek? We are and my kid hates it too, although I think the one day that they spend on executive function/course catch-up/check grades & assignments is useful.

Yes. My kid detests it and said they had no work to make-up the one day they didn’t have it. The school is pushing its LBGTQ agenda and the kids hate it. They must stay silent or have it pushed even more.

I wonder if your kid was one of those yelling homophobic slurs at other children during the Day of Silence.

Not just health in health. Out kids' HS takes one study hall per week away for this garbage.

Wellness is often code for leftist ideology.

You probably think "there are only 2 genders" is hate speech.

I don't know why progressives won't just own the fact that they support teaching leftist ideology in schools. We know that you do. Look no further than the LGBT books opt out controversy. You want to teach kids as young as 6 that sex and gender are not connected. That's insane.

What is "leftist ideology"? Accepting that individuals can be different and welcoming those differences? As opposed to MAGA/white christian nationalists who want everyone not white males to shut up and stay out of sight, barefoot and pregnant?

Sure, let's keep it simple.
