I hated fall in new england because it was back to school, got dark so early and smoky air from leaf burning. Just a depressing time.

I love it in DC because it cools off finally and I like early darkness as an adult.

But I also hate football and orange.

Boots. Leaves. Cider. The snap in the air. People like OP gnashing their teeth and ranting about how the only reason anyone would express a love for fall is to be perceived as unique. Fall is truly a magical time.

Eating apple cider donuts by the fistfuls!

Busting out my standard issue suburban mom Han Solo gear: dark skinny jeans, tall boots, fitted crew neck sweater, and black vest.

Spending an obscene amount of money on pumpkins for my front porch.

Ordering whatever the new fall trend is…sweaters, jeans, etc.

Getting my haircut to match the new fall trend…and then immediately regretting my decision.

Poring over slow cooker recipes and anything I can bake with pumpkin or apples.

Paying an obscene amount to pick apples in the burbs even though it’s ridiculously hot outside and nobody in my family likes apples.

Yay, Fall!!!

Christmas is around the corner and the decorations will be up and in the stores in less than 50 days. Soak in fall while you can.

Spring fall summer winter. That's my preference. Winter is stressful because of the holidays and then dreary and painful after the holidays are over. Fall is nice, but spring is AMAZING!!
