Should graveyards be developed and future ones banned?

It's superstition. It is the year 2023.

They're already developing over burial plots in Europe because they have advanced thinking.

I’m an atheist, and I agree it’s superstition. Still, government has no business dictating how people can observe their death rituals. Put your wishes in writing if you’d like to not contribute to the cemetery problem.

If observing death rituals is adversely affecting the climate crisis, then government has an absolute right and obligation to step in.

Sure. Stop embalming and caskets.

Is there anything not adversely impacting the climate? Let’s see impact of cremation vs lithium mining for EVs or Atlantic wind farms killing whales.

The climate was 2 degrees centigrade warmer when our early hunter gather ancestors roamed the earth and lived in caves. I think we will survive.

Exactly. Not only are wind farms killing whales, they’re killing BEES. No actual environmentalist would EVER get on board with that. The current crop of screaming hyenas are complete frauds.

WTF.

The US has lots of land, no need to redevelop graveyards here like in Europe.

Lol, find evidence for this. Yes, I googled it. Mostly right wing nut jobs making up weird crap. You know what is killing non native honeybees that pollinate so much food? Climate change and agribusiness’s reliance on pesticides and herbicides.

OP, I think you’re really a sack of crap for yet another right wing troll about the environment.

Y'all obviously never watched Unsolved Mysteries. You couldn't get me to live on land formerly occupied by a cemetery, lol.

Came here to say the same thing. OP, have you ever watched a horror movie or heard a ghost story before?

This. Embalming should be outlawed. If you just bury bodies, you can keep burying on top of each other as they will decompose. I’m definitely doing the green burial option as it’s so much better for our planet than regular burial or even cremation.

It's the year 2023.

I can't believe people still believe in ghosts, voodoo, angels, and beings in the sky. Good grief.

Isn't it time we think about using the land for housing and banning future burial plots? They're also terrible for the environment because they use huge amounts of water to keep green, tons of pesticides to keep out weeds, and are generally devoid of plant life to support ecosystems. Just creamate people, what the problem? We are running out of space to bury dead people, so why should we make the living suffer?

I tend to agree with the OP.

People live on and around land where serial killers buried their bodies (John Wayne Gacy). Some people don't care. However, you could not pay me enough money to do so.

We need to bulldoze Arlington cemetery and house all the newly arrived immigrants from Africa and South America.

I am all for taking Indian burial grounds. Oh wait, we already did that and they want it back? Have you told them that there is no voice in the sky?

How would zombies be related this if at all. I don’t want to create something we can’t control like on TV.
Also would development of old cemeteries be based on religion? I know many faiths have their own cemeteries so would that follow on to who is permitted to live there?

Are we only talking human cemeteries? What do we do about pet cemeteries?
