| XL twin. It's the same length as a king bed. |
| Our crib converted into a full size bed so that's what ours has. |
|
We did full but only because - DH is tall and we anticipated (correctly) that our boys would be as well. Also, we bought good quality wood furniture and we thought it may be good enough that they can take it with them for their first apartment if they want.
I slept on a twin growing up and it was plenty. |
Except a full is much shorter than a twin XL. We are a very tall family, everyone uses XL twins until they move out on their own. |
| Ordering a full for my kid. He’s not the tallest but is a very active sleeper; he’s always hanging off his twin. I have a king and he loves it but a full will do at this age! |

Twin - it's what his room has space for. He's already 5'11" at 13, but it will have to do. The room isn't long enough for a twin XL (wouldn't be able to get in the closet), and I guess we could do a full size, but then would have to get rid of the dresser.
It's fine. |
| Our 17y/o dd has a queen because her room is big and when she has a friend stay over they share the bed instead of needing an air mattress. |
That’s fair, I guess I was thinking that no adult wants a twin. We always get beds that don’t have a bottom that extends up at the foot of the bed. No one in our family has complained about that. I personally think it’s cozier with a more prominent piece at the bottom, but I’m sure not having it makes it easier to make the bed as well. And the tall folks in my family are only 6-6’3”, so not outliers. |
| 6 foot tall son sleeps in a twin. I've offered a larger bed but he likes having the open floor space in his room. He also said his bed is cozy. |
My 6' tall 18yr old ds sleeps just fine in his twin bed. Never has he complained that it is too short. He did use his own money to buy a mattress topper but the length was fine. |
| Twin is totally sufficient and you can get a nice greener/organic mattress and bedding for reasonable $ at twin size. |
| DS ended up with a queen because we won a contest, lol. Luckily we have room for it and I'm glad he has that size now. If you have room for bigger I would do it. |
| We got our kids queen size beds with the thought being they can take them when they move out of the house and then use them as guest bedroom furniture once they buy their own stuff. That way I get to sleep in a queen when I visit. |
| Queen, but she inherited our guest room when she moved out of the room she shared with her sister. When we have a guest, she shifts to the other room. Her room is on the small sude though— wish we had a fourth bedroom to make into an office/guest room so she could have room for a desk and more floor space. |
| DS, 16, is 6'4 and sleeps on a queen. A full would work too but we gave him the guest room as it was larger, and his old room with a twin is not the guest room. |
