Individual impairment as a consequence of drug use varies widely by user.

My friend's sister, in her late 50s, has had significant memory loss and emotional loss of control for many years now, and she has used edibles for several decades. My friend thinks the two are related.

And then you have users of various drugs who emerge unscathed.

It's best not to test this yourself.

What does emotional loss of control mean?

Like the pp who says they are more forgetful than a pot user they know, I am way more paranoid than the frequent pot users I know. It could just be a part of her chemistry, OP. But if she is always using and forgetting, it would be good to bring it up if you care about her.

I have a friend like this and it’s annoying - she never remembers what we talk about, is frequently spaced out, and can’t hold really hold a conversation as she’s not really able to pay attention. I recently saw her wander away from another friend mid-sentence! I am close enough that I’m going to share my concerns with her - she may not realize it’s as bad as it is, maybe thinks it’s just taking the edge off. But anyway just offering understanding- same boat here.

I have a friend like this too. She was already a bit of a ditz, but she became really spacy and forgetful and vapid after starting edibles during Covid. It is annoying and I’ve cut back communications with her. I still chat with her from time to time, but the quality of the friendship has decreased so much I question if it’s even worth the effort to continue anymore.
