Exactly. A 27 or 28 year old making $70,000 is not terrible. They aren't rich but they shouldn't be starving either.

+1 My nieces were making less than that in a higher col area. They got roommates. They didn't run to mommy and daddy.

So why can't their parents be their roommates?

My DH lived with his parents until he had saved enough for a down-payment for a house.

They gave him his own share of bills and chores.
