o You’ve not experienced them forcing you to use the app because you already use the app. |
CVS has the worst customer service and when my mom didn’t have health insurance, their prescriptions almost almost the most expensive. |
Good to know! They’re sick. Plenty of other options. |
One time CVS gave me Klonopin instead of my prescription prenatal vitamins. |
I stopped using CVS because the pharmacist always wanted to ask questions about my prescriptions. Pointless questions, like, are you allergic to this medication? How would I possibly know until I take it. Why am I taking it? Have I had any side-effects? What else am I taking? Listen, those are questions for my doctor, not my pharmacist. |
Time to go to Walgreens. |
I'm the PP who has used the app for years. I picked up a new prescription today and didn't have to give any extra info. In fact the pharmacist had to speak with me before I could pay; the woman in line behind me was apparently too close and the pharmacist asked her to step back before speaking with me. So while not ideal they do try. I know my mother prefers another pharmacy over CVS due to pricing but I've had a fine experience at my local NWDC branch.
And maybe it does track me in the store but 75% of the coupons I can add have nothing to do with anything I buy. And the same goes for Giant and Safeway...I always get tons of meat coupons and we're a family of vegetarians. |
FYI, you do not have to give the year. |
The data collection goes on in the background of your phone. You don't know what you are talking about. Every single app is collecting data not related to their app from your phone. Did you not hear about Facebook retrieving people's contacts on their phone and then using that data? People need to read about this and understand. People are so complacent and this is why we have no privacy. |
Make sure you are not signing up for their CVS Plus or Extra Care or whatever it's called. A cashier tricked me into registering for it. He said, "Want a $10 coupon? Just click yes on the screen and enter your phone number." A few weeks later, I found out that registered me for a $5 a month fee. And plenty of tracking, I'm sure. No mention of that anywhere when i signed up!
to a small extent, I respect his hustle. I know from working in retail that he was probably paid a significant bonus for every person who signed. He signed the two people in front of me, and I'm sure many others. Dishonest, but he got his bag and probably feels no shame. |
Extra Care card is the free card for coupons and stuff. Carepass is the one you're talking about that costs $5 a month. This is funny because it happened to my mom. She was bragging to me that she pressed this button and got a free $10! I knew about Carepass so I explained to her it's $5 a month and she felt duped. However, they give you a $10 coupon every month, free and clear. Not $10 off a $50 purchase or anything. $10 extra bucks. So by paying the $5 you get $10 and make a $5 profit every month and you can stock it with other coupons, sales, and free shipping. She ended up keeping it. It's not a bad deal if you ensure you use that $10 religiously every month and buy stuff you needed anyway. She got her $11 vitamins BOGO and used the $10 on that (so paid $1 + $5 monthly charge = $6 for two bottles). Obviously CVS is hoping people forget and just get charged the $5 which is unethical. |
Oh I know. I just don't care. Everything these days is tracking and listening to us. I just don't care. |
I was just in CVS getting my flu shot. I sat and waited for 10 minutes. Quite a few people picked up prescriptions and the counter guy didn't mention the app once. One lady even paid in cash. |
Yes, you explained it well. The only issue is that the $10 goes away at the end of the month if you don't spend it (but you still pay the $5 fee). So in a busy month when we were out of town or not stopping at CVS (or even if we did stop at CVS but forgot to use the coupon!), we were out $5 with nothing to show. So it's one more thing to keep track of. The $10 off was great when we used it. A mixed bag. TBH, I never got over the outrage of being tricked into signing up. My "subscription" lapsed when i closed the credit card on the account, and I have not re-signed. I probably will not. |
You do know that the pharmacists knows more about the medications than your doctor does don't you? |
