I wouldn’t eat fried chicken, too unhealthy.

but you'd eat pizza and chips? also, the party food isn't tailored to you, it's tailored to kids . . . who will likely expect pizza

we did a party with Chick Fil A nuggets once but not sure I'd do that in the heat.

Let me add: I wouldn’t let my kids eat fried chicken either. Yes pizza is fine.

You’re a loon

Fried chicken is terribly unhealthy. Not sure what is loony about that.

Maybe some skewers with fruit + Vegas and let child help assemble them. I would add the pigs in a blanket from a pp.

Do you know of any food restrictions? Any vegetarians?

It’s really not that simple when it’s 95 degrees out.

Personally, I'm icked out by deli sandwiches in the heat unless you can keep them cold until just before serving and then don't leave them out long.

Chicken nuggets and biscuits
Fruit kabobs
Watermelon wedges
Hummus, veggies, pita
Taco bar or falafel bar
Burgers and dogs (can you grill at the park?)
Pulled chicken/pulled pork sandwiches

A taco bar is never the answer. Especially outside in the heat of summer.

If you are willing to do some cooking/prep this is what we did for many kids parties

Order 2 trays of chick-fil-A nuggets. If the party is on Sunday then get them cold and you can easily reheat in the oven.
Make a big batch of creamy mac-n-cheese. Make it extra creamy and put it in the crockpot to stay warm.
Cut up a watermelon and get some grapes.
bowl of pretzels and a bowl of goldfish

We just do bagels and veggies and fruit.

If your car is large enough to transport...

No, you are supposed to hold it on top of the car with your hand out the window, Beltway mattress-style.

In seriousness though, pita pocket sandwiches are less mess to eat, and you can have some with hummus for those who don’t eat meat.

Pretzel rods and individual fruit like clementines also are easier to grab and cleanup.

If a party is at 11am and we want people to eat at 12:30, we get food delivered at 12-12:15 (or send a husband or two to pick it up). Have never had soggy food.

Chik fil a and then have some side options. Get nuggets and then sandwiches for the adults. I also like the chipotle option may use that another year

Same here. Bagels, cream cheese, jam, butter, a fruit tray, a veggie tray with dip, crackers, tortilla chips, and water.

Keep the bucket of deep fried chicken for yourself then.
