I agree. I have no desire to send my food back to the kitchen and wonder what happened to it before it returned. Plus, we have had food thrown out by mistake more than once during the days the waiter would take it back to the kitchen to wrap. I also thin it’s easier to just ask for a container than explain what yo do want wrapped up. |
What restaurant gives you a temperature controlled takeaway box? And how many people do you know who got sick or died eating tacky restaurant leftovers? |
This is DCUM. Someone was probably permanently disabled after eating reheated leftovers. |
|
We are not allowed to box up food for you. Per health department.

+1 This is why I hardly tip theseadays |
+1 and I give 25% to especially hardworking, attentive servers. |
Not only would I prefer to pack it up myself, I'd be concerned that someone back in the kitchen might add something not preferred if they felt irritated or disrespected. |
No the point is they give you something that’s NOT temperature controlled. Like I think at Rose’s luxury they gave us dry pasta. |
That’s not really the point, the point is that the restaurant has to follow the rules. |
| Just don't pack leftovers |
So.... they gave you the raw ingredients to make the same dinner you just ate? |
Why aren't you concerned that they might add something not preferred the first time you ordered it? |
I tip customary, not "customary". |
After eating your meal, instead of leftovers… the restaurant gave you… dry pasta? What are you talking about? |
This. They take it back in the kitchen and then scoop things up with their hands and put it in there. I can do that myself without getting their germs. |
