Again, it’s not fair to say that Muslim kids need to either come to school or miss content for Eid when Christian parents would never accept that for Christmas Eve or Christmas day. So the calendar has to be balanced with those holidays, federal holidays where they must be closed, and contracted teacher work days.

Isn’t every Friday the sabbath for Muslims? Should we not have school on Fridays?

Because of all the random days off. Those days ruin everything and people just take extra days off on each side of them anyway so it's a complete waste.

When LCPS was open on Halloween they weren't allowed to celebrate it anyway because some people were offended but small kids in costumes.

Only the ES parents care. My MS and HS students love all the random days off. School is much harder and less fun now and the breaks are really nice.

Last year those holidays were in the calendar, along with a 2 week winter break. Now there's just random days off thrown in there. There has not been a full school week yet this year and for what reason?

Because the state law is if you start before Labor Day, Labor Day has to be a 4 day weekend. This is the 3rd week of school and it’s a 5 day week. You guys just sound like idiots when you try to pretend this is so hard to comprehend.

It’s not even true. My kids’ elementary school still has dress up on Halloween or the Friday before if we are off that year- it’s dress up as your favorite book character
