almost 13 and no period

I think it is crazy people are suggesting you see an endocrinologist for a 12 yr old with no period. She has all the signs, yes. It is likely going to happen any day. Just chill. If by 14 nothing, ok, seeking advice. But for now, carry on and bring up at her next well child appt if you want reassurance. But to see a specialist now seems classic DC insane

The range of normal is wider than you might think, but if you're concerned, trust your gut and ask your ped.

Yes my daughter was 13 and a few months. It felt like we were waiting forever. She’s almost 16 now and dramatically hourglass - what I thought was fully developed at 13 was def not her final shape, so it makes more sense in retrospect. Her sister is now 13 and we are still waiting, I think it must be genetics on dad’s side

hm.. my 15 yr old doesn't have it yet. She's reed thin, but eats normally. She does do a sport. Also, late puberty runs in the family. I think she's just a very late bloomer herself.

It’s not so unusual to still be relatively flat at 13 years old. That is her body type, it might change it might not. Did she grow taller before her period?

My sister and I both got ours about a month after turning 14. That was 8th grade for my sister, 9th for me. My sister was developed for about two years prior. I was a stick for about two years after. We both ended up with pretty much the same shape, decent-sized breasts, petite, small. One of us just developed early and the other late. Both were completely normal.

OP what's with comments like this and the eye rolling? Just end this thread, call an endocrinologist and be done with it.
