Are we allowed to give guideline to teachers

^^ And if our kids didn't get at least a 3 out of 4 grade on the unit test, they had to take it again during indoor recess/outdoor recess, and I didn't want them to have to do that again.

Funny OP. You're raising a real winner.

Maybe homeschool and don’t assign your kid homework.

Was this in 1995? Because there’s no way this was the case in the last 10+ years.

Dumbest comment on DCUM whenever someone talks about issues with school.

ouch, hit a nerve?? LOL

Private schools don’t have to honor IEPs accommodations 🤦‍♂️ .
Public is your best bet

but we don't want OP in public!!

Op is a bored teenager making up posts on dcum.

If the OP is for real, this is ine of the many reasons why teachers are leaving the profession in droves!

OP. You need to homeschool your child.

Are high school teachers allowed to give homework? I want to email the principal and the AP, and all my daughter teachers and let them know that I don't want my daughter to be assign homework. I will be okay, with them giving a studying for a test, and reading for Fun and extra credit and that is all. NO Test on Monday and no more than one test per day. Will this be possible ? She was denied A IEP and 504, because they tested her and she had no need for one, but I believe kids should be kids and they shouldn't be doing homework when they get home and they shouldn't have to do so much work when they get home from school.

You can certainly send the email. It won't get much of a response though. Teachers don't get their guidelines from parents.

Yes. This is a reasonable request for a child with a disability. Get proof of you child's disability from a mental health expert, and appeal their IEP decision. FCPS is well known for violating the rights of children with disabilities, including making inaccurate IEP 504 decisions.

I hope grammar homework is given regularly.

Submit a FOIA request asking if for a record of any request or approval of a Homework exemption accommodation for a student.

With around 180,000 students in FCPS, it is likely that thousands of FCPS students have a disability, and it reasonable that at least one of them has a homework exemption.

The here is no proof this child has a disability.

I disagree. Unless the student is in self contained classes, this is an extreme request for a high school student in standard level classes. Dictating when a test is scheduled and refusing any kind of practice at home? I just don't see how this will help the student in the long run.
