| The Alicia Navarro case has girls doing this crap now. You willingly leave, not in danger, shack up until 18 and then live a normal life with the guy. |
Who runs away without their cell phone - purposely. She was lured and asked not to bring her phone. "We will get you a new phone and you can be a model or live a great life." Now she is being trafficked This happens so much more than you think |
Who cares. It doesn't matter. Stop deflecting and blaming |
Yes but we don't know that is what happened here. It's all conjecture. For all we know, the kid felt like her parents were abusive and fled. (NOT saying that is true). And knew they could track her with her phone (all kids know this), so she got a burner phone instead. We have no idea why she left. None. Hopefully the police know more. |
| No, we don't know what happened, but she's 15. She's a minor. She needs to be protected from whatever situation she's in now regardless of whether she left voluntarily or not. She's not legally capable of deciding voluntarily to go live with a boyfriend or whatever. That's not her call to make yet. And the community needs to keep spreading the word in the hopes that someone can help her. |
You're sick in the head if you think parents can or should control every aspect of a 15 year Olds life. If you go through their phone you still miss everything that is deleted or on a burner phone. If you never let them out of the house they would run away at school. What a hot take |
| Why does everyone assume trafficking and not that she found a boyfriend online and wanted to be with him and left her phone so she wouldn't get caught? Not saying it's a great situation or that the "bf" isn't scummy. Just that it's not hard to get a burner phone and not everything is a trafficking or prostitution ring. |
I also do not understand this weird fixation with trafficking. I think this is some q anon fixation some posters have. Yes trafficking happens, and it is awful, but there are many other more likely scenarios. Not all of these possibilities are better than trafficking. For example, scenarios involving creepy older men are spine chilling and often do not involve trafficking but are still god awful and possibly worse. I hope she is ok and has just run away. If not, I hope she is still ok.

This case and the current case should scream at parents: "Do not let your teens have free unchecked access to the internet!" There are sick people out there. |
| I hope she is OK, too. |
OK, kidnapped and isolated by a "boyfriend", not trafficked. |
| Found safe in Baltimore City. A mall security guard recognized her and called police |
Great news. |
wow -- where are you seeing that? |
| I don't see any news stories that she has been found, do you have a link? |
